Akiyo Lambert-Kai was born in Tokyo. She lives in Paris and is occasionally invited by the association for concert and lyre’s workshops in Japan.
Akiyo began practicing piano at 4 years old. At the age of 7, she received the 2nd prize at a piano concours held by Kawai in Tokyo. She entered a junior high school affiliated to Kunitachi university of music (Kunitachi College of music), department of piano. She began to sing lyrics at the high school affiliated to the same university. She received a degree of music teacher from Kunitachi university of music, and a degree of vocal music from Concervatoire Shobi in Tokyo. She sang at Tokyo Nikikai Opera Foundation. After that she received diploma of vocal music from l’Ecole Normale de Musique à Paris in 1991. She played the lyre in Munchen at Lyre Orchestra lead by Susanne Heinz, where she was a part leader of the 2nd lyre in 2005. S.Heinz encouraged her to open a music atelier for lyre students. She left the orchestra in 2006 and entered Sorbonne University, Paris5 (Paris Descartes) to study Art therapy, specialized in music therapy. She has several good experiences in therapy in many institutions and hospitals. She was influenced very strongly by Ita Wegmann Klinik in Arlesheim.
Since 2005, Akiyo has her own music atelier for lyre in Paris.
She created the NPO ‘Association du Bien-etre Artistique’ on 2011 and she started a group ‘Musique Atelier Belle’ in Tokyo in 2013.
Activites in her atelier are forcused on lyre and singing, also introducing therapy and education elements.
Akiyo plays the piano, the lyre and other musical instruments. She is also skillful at dancing, especially the baroque dance (17th century French royal ballet) and renaissance dances. She plays and performs at institutions, nursing homes and on stages.
